Intergen has signed a strategic partnership with Microsoft to accelerate Azure cloud growth in New Zealand and drive transformational outcomes for customers. The partnership is a three-year program in which Intergen and Microsoft will work in close collaboration at an executive level to identify customers and transform their adoption of Azure.
According to Gartner, worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services is forecast to grow 23.1 per cent in 2021 to total US$332.3 billion, up from US$270 billion in 2020.
Simon Bright, CEO, Intergen, said, “The connection between Intergen and Microsoft is already strong. However, with this new partnership, we are coming together even more to help customers migrate, manage, and modernise on the Azure cloud platform. The move to cloud is no longer a nice-to-have for organisations; it is a must-have in terms of operational resilience, reliability, security, scalability, and agility in the new normal business environment.
“Microsoft continues to significantly invest in New Zealand, which will ultimately benefit Intergen’s customers. This includes the announcement of its first onshore datacentre, which will give organisations in the region access to enterprise-grade cloud services, providing additional assurance around data sovereignty into the future. This only serves to reinforce that the time is right for Intergen to extend its relationship with Microsoft in the region even further.”
Intergen has a strong history and demonstrated expertise in delivering public cloud solutions for its customers with a proven, audited migration methodology and a leading Azure managed service for maintaining, optimising, and continuously enhancing cloud environments. Intergen is one of just 77 Microsoft partners globally to have earned the prestigious Microsoft Azure Expert Managed Services Provider (MSP) status, after undergoing a rigorous, independent technical validation to ensure its capabilities meet Microsoft’s high standards.
Toby Spendiff, general manager – modern work & digital, Intergen, said, “Safe and effective migration to the cloud is a foundational service provided by Intergen through its Azure Expert MSP capability. Where Intergen differentiates significantly in the market is enabling customers to leverage the true innovation of the cloud through extensive modernisation intellectual (IP) and proactive Azure managed services. We focus on strategic advisory, proactive planning, and leveraging IP that can significantly reduce modernisation programs, letting our customers maximise their investment in the cloud and pivot quickly when required.”
Vanessa Sorenson, managing director, Microsoft New Zealand, said, “It’s so exciting to welcome Intergen on board as an Azure growth partner and see how committed Intergen is to helping its customers leverage cloud platforms to deliver new products and services and grow their businesses together. It’s partnerships like this that will make the cloud dividend forecast by IDC a reality, bringing 102,000 new jobs and adding $30 billion to New Zealand’s economy over the next four years.”
