Security Architect

The opportunity

Empired's Platforms team are looking for a highly skilled, forward thinking, self-starter with the confidence and expertise to interface with Empired’s growing client base.

This position will be suited to someone who is well established in the Pre-Sales Architectural space and is experienced in the evolution of legacy systems using a wide array of contemporary and emerging technologies tailored our client’s business requirements.

As our client’s trusted advisor and working alongside other like-minded Empired Architects, you will use your high-end communication and negotiation skills and work in partnership with our clients to guide them through their business technology transformation.


What would we like to see from you?

Demonstrated experience: 

• Experienced in architecture consulting and design (3+ years)
• Pre-sales experience with the ability to sit with the client and assist in developing the right solutions that are fit for purpose.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated experience in gathering and analysing system requirements.
• Working with fellow architects, vendors and engineers to deliver complete end-to-end detailed technology designs and associated integrations that are fit for purpose and supportable.
• As part of level 3 escalations, a Security Architect may also be engaged to respond to breaches of security. 

In addition:

• Reviewing current system security measures and recommending and implementing enhancements
• Conducting regular system tests and ensuring continuous monitoring of network security
• Developing project timelines for ongoing system upgrades
• Ensuring all personnel have access to the IT system limited by need and role
• Establishing disaster recovery procedures and conducting breach of security drills
• Promptly responding to all security incidents and providing thorough post-event analyses
• Extensive experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance and reliability
• Solid understanding of security protocols, authentication, authorisation and security
• Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions
• Experience implementing multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management or related technologies
• Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures

Certifications required:

• University degree related to the field of Computer Network Engineering or IT.
• CISSP
• Certification in the following preferred: Cisco/Checkpoint/Fortinet/Palo/F5
• ITIL v4
• SABSA/TOGAF favoured
