Principal Consultant- UX Design

It’s an exciting time to join our team as we look to grow our Design & Experience capability. It’s been 2 years since we launched our Human Centred Design approach and we’ve had great success with our clients in the service, public sector and commercial industries. This success has lead us to looking to grow quite quickly in 2021 and that’s why we’re looking for great people like you.

Melbourne based role (Can be an option to be in Sydney!)

  • You have a solid track record and experience as an User Experience or Experience Designer within an agency / consultancy or similar
  • You like to stay up to date in how leading thinkers are practicing and improving the human centred design principles

From day one, we need you to be experienced in:  
  • Being experts of customer centred design principles and usability testing methods and are passionate about delivering superior customer experiences.
  • Application of content strategy into experience design across large scale website design
  • Having an innate sense of – and strong opinion about – good usability when it comes to web applications
  • Using creative user research methods to gain critical insights about what users really want
  • Facilitating and conducting workshops and interviews with users and key stakeholders confidently
  • Choosing & delivering the right UX tools for the job at hand, for example user research, user journey maps, personas, sitemaps, sketches, interactive wireframes & prototypes etc…
  • Presenting recommendations, to both team members and clients, on functionality, content, and navigation that are considerate of the project timeline & scope
  • Working as part of a delivery team and collaborating with their peers to design high quality digital products and websites
  • Utilizing behavioral analytics, customer research findings and digital analytics to drive UI design and journey optimization
  • Helping to drive the UX process and offering within the Digital practice and across the whole of Empired
  • Leading and assisting with pre-sales activities, including educating clients on why UX is critical to delivering successful products and websites
Should you be interested and have experience in these things, it will be even better:
  • Interest and previous experience in digital and UI web design
  • Working with Agile delivery teams, and understand the role of the designer in ensuring high quality digital products
  • Experience working with Microsoft products
  • Ability to write and create detailed user stories
