Practice Lead - Azure Solutions

As the Practice Lead you will lead the Modern Work Team in Perth, responsible for the quality of solutions delivered and supported through the Practice to Empired’s clients.

This role ensures best practice development methodologies and frameworks are adhered to and contributes to maintaining the capability of the Modern Workplace and Azure team locally and abroad. Your technical expertise will keep you close to the solutions being delivered and your leadership capability will ensure your teammates are learning from your experience.
Your Experience 
  • 8-10 years of experience in business management, IT, systems integration consulting, design
  • Have, or are, leading a team of technical professionals today
  • Experience in architecture, configuration, and delivery of Modern Workplace and Azure Customer Engagement solutions
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Experience from pre-sales to final delivery; ensuring that each solution is appropriately scoped, designed, implemented, and tested to meet our client's business needs
  • Experience with Structured Development and Implementation Methodologies/Techniques such as Waterfall, RAD, Iterative and SCRUM
  • Strong exposure to large Azure implementations
  • Hands on experience in designing, building, and implementing Microsoft solutions based around Azure (Iaas and PaaS)
  • Experience with implementing and supporting:
    • Active Directory and Azure AD solutions (AADDS, Azure AD Connect)
    • Azure network topologies and technologies;
    • Azure monitoring, alerting, and logging tools (Azure Monitor / Log Analytics)
    • Azure HA/DR, scaling, and backup solutions (ASR, Azure Backup)
    • Microsoft 365 security (CASB, Sentinel, AIP, DLP, Defender)
  • Demonstrable experience with Azure DevOps, including the automation of infrastructure builds, configuration and release management (using either PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform, or other tools)
  • Experience with Azure migrations, including initial workload assessments and associated architecture of Azure services to meet requirements
  • Knowledge of infrastructure solutions, specifically in relation to Microsoft Azure and Office 365, platform migration, system security, enterprise directories, and cloud technologies
  • Lead a team of internal and external (both inhouse and out-sourced) consultants and developers to deliver great outcomes for our clients
  • Manage the delivery of our solutions to clients, working closely with other Practice Leads, Managers & Directors and PMO to ensure successful project initiation, management and delivery
  • Supporting the Practice Director in the development and delivery of the practice business plan through implementing local service offerings
  • Contribute to presales activities in conjunction with the Client Development team
  • Identify and confirm Azure solution options and assess suitability of proposed solutions to determine the impact on the business as a whole and to manage expectations
  • Work with project teams and clients to define the critical business objectives, critical success factors and obtained business value
  • Ensure technical quality across portfolio. Advise team members as the technical expert across projects and support, ensuring the solution is of superior quality
  • Drive operational excellence within the team, escalating any resourcing, performance or process concerns in a timely manner
  • Take ownership and provide solution leadership to the team
  • Ensuring quality assurance through compliance and adherence to delivery practices & methods
